Bodhi Mala Bead: 12-13mm

Tiger tooth DZI bead:13x26mm

Antique Phoenix Eye Bodhi beads are prized for their spiritual patina—decades of mantra recitation (believed to encode lungta energy) and butter lamp blessings create a unique vibrational resonance ideal for meditation. Over time, the seeds undergo a physical alchemy: their surfaces develop a porcelain-like glaze, eye markings reveal golden iris patterns, and increased density.

As our dzi beads are handcrafted using traditional techniques, there may be approximately 5% variation between the actual product you receive and the product images.

Phoenix eye Bodhi:

In the shadow of the Himalayas, where mist curls around ancient monasteries, the Phoenix Eye Bodhi seed is revered as "the Buddha's first witness"—its triangular eye-markings believed to be imprinted by the gaze of enlightened beings.

Origin Myth
According to Newari artisans in Kathmandu Valley, these seeds originated when the Bodhi Tree wept resin tears upon seeing human suffering. The tears hardened into seeds, each bearing:

l  An "eye" (symbolizing the Buddha's omniscience)

l  Three natural ridges (representing the Three Jewels)

l  A heartbeat-like pulse (detectable when pressed to a meditator’s wrist)
